Naked Surfer has been flashing the Swedes - but don't be alarmed, it's really not how it sounds. Instead, he's impressed at a Swedish travel website, nominated for a 2008 Webby Award.

Furuvik may sound at first like a pretty old-school product, as far as travel experiences go. Billed as one of Sweden’s loveliest family adventure parks, on the coast south of Gävle, it offers experiences with chimps and orang utangs, a circus tent, plus rides and roundabouts - plus a camp site and a youth hostel.
So far, so ordinary. But the online experience, Furuvik.se, bought the attraction to life for even a jaded surfer like me - undoubtedly a reason it's a nominee in the 2008 Webby Awards, Tourism category, announced recently.
Nice bright layout, subtle use of moving flash images and sound, and a fresh, intuitive design turn what could have been ho-hum, into "Hmm, what's this? Wish I spoke Swedish."
Nice one, folks. Travel site designers could do well to take a session at your site.
More from the Webbys next week - happy surfing.
Peace,
Naked Surfer
