The Naked Surfer checks out 15 short films that make light of Malaysian social and political issues.

15Malaysia is a short film project consisting of 15 short films made by 15 Malaysian independent filmmakers, including the late Yasmin Ahmad. These films deal with Malaysia’s socio-political issues in a lighter vein and with a sense of humour.

Featured in the films are local celebrities, actors, musicians and top political leaders including Health Minister Datuk Seri Liow Tiong Lai, Tian Chua (information chief of Parti Keadilan Rakyat), Umno Youth chief Khairy Jamaluddin and PAS spiritual leader Nik Aziz Nik Mat.

The project is produced by singer/songwriter/actor Pete Teo and sponsored by Packet One Networks (P1), the leading WiMAX telecommunications company in Malaysia.

• The films are available for free download at the 15Malaysia website. Three films are released each, with the first on 17 August and the last on 16 September.
