The Naked Surfer discovers that today’s air travellers are using the new online media, such as Twitter, to voice their grouses, shedding the traditional phone calls or letters.

The Naked Surfer chanced upon this Reuters article, “Frustrated tweets new headache for airlines”, that reports how online tools, such as Twitter and videos, are replacing ”indignant letters, e-mails and phone calls" for travellers to air complaints to airlines. While the traditional media "can still get results for unhappy airline travelers, more are finding that if you really want to vent your frustrations, you can now be loud and fast and public," adds the report.
The article also mentions the song and video, “United Breaks Guitar”, which Canadian musician Dave Carroll recorded after an incident in which his expensive guitar was damaged during flight.
As the story goes: In the spring of 2008 Sons of Maxwell were travelling to Nebraska for a one-week tour and Dave Carroll’s Taylor guitar was witnessed being thrown by United Airlines baggage handlers in Chicago. He discovered later that the US$3,500 guitar was severely damaged. He said United Airlines failed to take responsibility for damaging his instrument, which prompted him to write and produce three songs about his experience with UA. He made each available for viewing online by anyone in the world.
