This site is a lovely real-time simulation, which displays the CO2 emissions of every country in the world, as well as the birth and death rates of every nation on earth.

The running counter on the site's bottom right corner shows the world population, how many people have been born and died, as well as the tonnes of CO2 that has been emitted “since you have started watching”, accompanied by organic sound effect. It is obvious from the numbers that the world's population is exploding, with the rate of births almost thrice that of deaths. The CO2 emissions number is scary too!

Similar details of any country are revealed by hovering the mouse over each of them, and the numbers are shown the bottom left corner.

The aim of Breathing Earth's creator is to raise awareness of environmental issues. Information on the site, its origin and what we can do to reduce our carbon footprint is at the bottom of the site.
