The video opens with a statement of what happened on January 12 when the earthquake hit Haiti, shows footage of the devastation and the suffering of its people.
The remake of the R.E.M classic was produced by music mogul, Simon Cowell and re-recorded in both Los Angeles and London. The single features 21 stars, including Susan Boyle, Cheryl Cole, Leona Lewis, Mariah Carey, Mika, Gary Barlow, Robbie Williams, Jon Bon Jovi, James Morrison, James Blunt and Rod Steward. Sales of this single have shot through the roof.
