At first glance the new website of the Kuala Lumpur Tourist Association (KLTA) is rather pleasing to the eye, with simple, uncluttered layout against a blue and white/grey background. What makes the home page attractive is the slideshow of the various attractions of Kuala Lumpur, from its famous Petronas Twin Towers to Islamic Arts Museum and Daratan Merdeka (Freedom Square), to name just a few.

Tabs on the top of the home page take you to the city’s destinations, travel packages as well as real time travel related news, events taking place in Malaysia, photos and videos.

Leveraging on the latest craze in social media the website offers Google maps as well as Facebook and Twitter connectivity.

For KLTA members and industry subscribers, the website is also a venue where they are able to run advertising and email campaigns, sell travel packages, rooms and promote Kuala Lumpur’s hottest spots.

The website is designed and developed by Creative Advances Technology (CAT), a leading provider of online tourism solutions, using SOTA (Standard Online Tourism Architecture) technology.

Said KLTA President Dato' Shamsul Falak, “SOTA enriches the website with interactive features that enables it to have live products unlike any other association portals. Through SOTA, KLTA is able to provide our members with an easy to use online platform, which reflects our aim to reach out to more customers.”
