The Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA) has launched a new platform for the travel industry to obtain vital statistics on its website.
PATA launched Phase 1 of its new TIGA (Travel Intelligence Graphic Architecture) online intelligence service at the recently concluded PATA Conference in Kuching in Sarawak, Malaysia.
Developed jointly with Malaysia’s Creative Advances Technology (CAT) TIGA offers PATA members and industry subscribers a new platform for obtaining a wealth of analysis, forecasts and statistics via the PATA website
TIGA, when fully operational, offers a broad spectrum of information relevant to travel and tourism industry professionals covering international arrivals data, forecasts, flight frequencies and airline seat availability, hotel occupancy and revenue statistics, broad economic data and much more.
Users will be able to access TIGA at three levels:
1. Basic – available to anyone
2. Advanced – available to registered users that are PATA members
3. Premium – available to registered users that pay a subscription
TIGA Phase 2 is scheduled for launch at the PATA Travel Mart in September 2010. Phase 3 goes live in the first half of 2011.
PATA CEO Greg Duffell said TIGA, as an interactive tool, would enable more informed decision-making by travel and tourism professionals. "It’s an integral part of our new-look website and reflects our determination to add value to our very broad range of membership benefits."
CAT CEO Rohizam Md Yusoff, added that TIGA, by providing pertinent information 24 hours a day, would cater to the fast-growing tourism industry and travel players looking for ways to be better equipped and customise their tourism business experience.
Note: TIGA has emerged from a strategic partnership forged between PATA and CAT to provide innovative technology support. Through this partnership CAT, a leading provider of online tourism solutions, has extended its Standard Online Tourism Architecture (SOTA) technology to create the TIGA platform. The partnership seeks to foster the growth of innovative tourism through technology and collaboration.
