Gareth Williams, CEO and Co-Founder, Skyscanner Ltd

Gareth co-founded Skyscanner in 2001 with two friends – Barry Smith and Bonamy Grimes. It is a self-funded enterprise that has seen dramatic growth, particularly in the last two years, both in terms of staff and revenue.

Left to his own devices Gareth would be perfectly happy to spend his time coding impenetrable programmes that had little or no practical application, but as Chief Executive he does his best to lead the future, strategic development of the company – whilst enviously watching the programmers.

Gareth graduated from Manchester University with a BSc in mathematics and computing. Over the years he worked for the likes of Marks & Spencer, Long Term Credit Bank Int., Nations Bank, Tullet &Tokyo Ltd and Shell.

Gareth is married with a two year old son, two dogs and
lives in Edinburgh.
